The Effects of Bloodletting or Acupuncture stimulation on Kang - ab - gu of ear on blood pressure and hemological changes in SHR

Abstract
|
|
|
In this experiments it was attemped to explore the effects of bloodletting or acupuncture stimulation on Kang-ab-gu area of ear on blood pressure, plasma renin activity and aldosterone, serum sodium, potassium and total cholesterol level in spontaneously hypertensive rats.
1. The blood pressures of SHR were not lowered on the 1st day of bloodletting or acupuncture stimulation , but were more lowered in the group of bloodletting on the 3rd day, and were more lowered in the groups of bloodletting and acupuncture stimulation on the 5th day of bloodletting or acupuncture stimulation than the control group.
2. The levels of plasma renin activity were not lowered in the group of acupuncture stimulation on Kang-ab-gu area of ear than the control group.
3. The levels of plasma aldosterone were more lowered in the groups of bloodletting and acupuncture stimulation on Kang-ab-gu area of ear and the group of acupuncture of blank locus at the root of tail than the control group.
4. The levels of serum sodium were more increased in the groups bloodletting and acupuncture stimulation on Kang-ab-gu area of ear than the control group.
5. The levels of serum potassium were not significantly different from the control group.
6. The levels of the total cholesterol were not lowered in the group bloodletting on Kangab-gu area of ear than the control group.
The results suggest that bloodletting or acupuncture stimulation on Kang-ab-gu area of ear shows the significant reduction of blood pressure, and the effectiveness in plasma and serum, that bloodletting or acupuncture stimulation on same area is on effective therapeutics on the regulation of high blood pressure.
